Tech-Air® 3 can be worn over or under the protective jacket and is lightweight and easily packable. The latest edition of the Tech-Air® line is designed to protect commuters, touring and everyday cyclists with effective upper-body airbag protection covering the rider's entire pre-crash chest and back .
A completely self-contained system, Tech-Air® 3 requires no external connections or sensors on the motorcycle for the system to operate. Tech-Air® 3 if a fully self-contained active airbag system.
Tech-Air® 3 incorporates 6 integrated sensors (3 accelerometers, 3 gyroscopes or 1 triaxial gyroscope and 1 triaxial accelerometer) to provide the best shock monitoring performance in a variety of dynamic driving situations.
The Tech-Air® 3 airbag system is activated automatically via the magnetic zip closure.
The control unit and electronics are housed in a waterproof housing for proven performance in humid weather conditions.
The packable design means the system can be stored in a backpack or under the seat of a bicycle when not in use.
Featuring a diagonal zipper to provide full front chest coverage while also hiding the internal airbag.
The magnetic zip closure has been designed for ease of use and to provide a secure closure system to the airbag garment.

Tech-Air® 3 incorporates Alpinestars' Pro 2nd Generation compact electronic control unit (ECU) incorporated into the upper back of the Tech-Air® 3 vest.
Tech-Air® 3 uses the Tech-Air® 5 road algorithm that provides active protection in on-road driving scenarios and in a variety of driving conditions, even when stationary.
Upgradeable system firmware, accessible via the Tech-Air® app.
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 5.0) connectivity with the Tech-Air® app displays system status, battery status and riding data.
Tech-Air® 3 uses a certified lithium-ion built-in battery, with a battery life of 40 hours and a charging time of approximately 4 hours.
The LED display also incorporates a haptic warning, which vibrates to confirm that the system is armed and alerts the rider when the battery is running low.
The argon gas cylinder that provides the inflation gas for airbag activation is housed in an ergonomic case on the right side of the pilot's lower back.

Alpinestars Tech-Air® 3 Airbag System is an "over" the jacket solution designed for commuters and younger cyclists and offers effective upper body protection by covering the cyclist's entire chest and back.
Featuring a water-resistant main frame and waterproof ECU and electronics, this slim, self-contained system can also be worn under a motorcycle jacket, including any Alpinestars compatible jacket, any leather or textile jacket, provided that the jacket has sufficient space to accommodate airbag inflation.
Alpinestars' crash detection activation algorithm has been developed and refined with millions of kilometers of riding data and thousands of crashes, allowing the system to accurately judge when to deploy the airbag before a crash or other dangerous situation such as a lowside or highside accident. In the event that Tech-Air® 3 detects the onset of a crash, the system will deploy the protective airbag in milliseconds, depending on the size of the airbag.
The Tech-Air® 3 system is designed to be worn as an "over" jacket solution; upon inflation the system provides protective coverage to the rider's chest and back for effective upper body protection.
Tech-Air® ECU seal protection ensures performance in all weather conditions and is certified to operate between -20⁰C and +40⁰C.
